SSA+S is committed to a fair, transparent, and equitable admissions process. All policies comply with Florida public charter school lottery requirements.
All applications submitted during the open application window are included in the same lottery draw. The submission date or time does not provide any applicant with an advantage — every eligible application has an equal chance in the randomized lottery.
When the number of timely applications exceeds available seats for a grade level, a randomized lottery is conducted. Each eligible application is assigned a random number and seats are filled in order. The process is conducted electronically to ensure integrity and auditability.
Certain applicants receive priority consideration in the lottery: siblings of currently enrolled students, children of SSA+S employees, and children of SSA+S board members. All preference claims must be verified by admissions staff before lottery priority is applied.
Applicants not selected in the lottery are placed on a waitlist ordered by their lottery draw number. As seats become available throughout the cycle, offers are extended in waitlist order.
Selected families receive a formal enrollment offer with a response deadline — typically 10 calendar days. Vacancy offers from the waitlist carry a shorter 48-hour response window. Accepted offers proceed to a records review before final enrollment is confirmed.
Submitting multiple applications for the same student does not improve selection chances. Duplicate applications are flagged during eligibility review. Only one application per student per cycle will be entered into the lottery.
